To all who have written about my Lewis Burdette: thanks a million. In order to find out if he belongs to anyone else here are the "facts" I have about him:

Lewis A. Burdette--b. April 1834 in Monroe Co. (from Summers Census 1900). Parents were Joseph & Dicy Burdette (from marriage record 1863).

Married first: Mary (from 1860 Greenbrier Census, District 2). Children: Sarah, b 1858, and Samuel, 1860. Samuel died, I believe, and I don't know what happened to Sarah.

Married second: Christiana or Christina Fink, dtr of Joseph & Jane Fink, b. January 1841, in Monroe Co. Married in Greenbrier Co., Mar 26, 1863 (from Grnb marriage records).

Children of Lewis & Christiana:
Elizabeth, b. 1864,
Dicy Lluwellyn, 1867;
William Newton, 1869
Malinda N. 1871
Lewis L. 1873
Josephine 1875
Adrain 1877
Mary Catherine 17 January 1880 (my grandmother), d. 9 mar 1912
Benjamin O. 1882
one, name unknown

These are taken from the 1870, 1880 and 1900 summers censuses.

Lewis A. is on the 1920 summers census in the household of his daughter, Josie who is married to Russell Grimmett. Lewis is listed as 86 years old. I could not locate a death record.

In History of MOnroe Co. children of Isham Burdette include a Lewis A. Burdette and a Joseph H. Is this my Lewis A. Burdette? If it is, why is his father Joseph on his marriage record? Help! Janet Estep
