The name is Kackley, not Hackley. Mary "Polly" Kackley was born on March 15,
1797 and died May 23, 1862. She married David Anderson on July 25, 1820 in
Frederick County, VA. Mary's parents were Abraham and Christina
(Whissen)Kackley. The Kackley log house is still standing (vacant) along US
Route 50 in Smokey Hollow, Hampshire County. This is less than 1 mile from
Capon Bridge. Photo of log house and genealogy is in my book Settlement and
Some First Settlers of Back Creek Valley, 1730-1830.

Susan,

The only David Anderson marriage in the book is to a Rebecca Earnholt, 28
June 1842. Perhaps this David is a close relative?

The only Hackley marriage is that of Catherine Hackley to Isaac Dawson, 20
Oct 1825. Perhaps a sister to your Mary?

Elaine
