Good Morning everyone,

Has anyone seen information on the Croxton Ferry service or the
Croxton Tavern? This was run near the New Cumberland area with the Tavern
offering visitors refreshments while waiting to cross the Ohio River. This
would have been during the late 1700's and into the early 1800's. Abraham
Croxton moved into the (then) Brooke County Ohio River Valley in the mid
1700's. I'm not sure as to when the businesses where first started, but
several generations of Croxtons were involved. From Abraham Croxton to his
son William who married Mary Gamble, to their son Samuel Croxton who married
Eliza Ward. Anything you might know about the business or the people involved
would be pleasant news to me.
Thank you,
Dale Patterson
