OH thank you, Thank you Marta for your reply, You are a dear.
I've seen some of Alan McAdams post on the Ralston genforum site &
think I've emailed him on the lines before. I find it interesting
that my Gr grandfather Warren Samuel Ralston b. 1860 in Hollidays Cove
Brooke Co VA traveled to Otoe Nebraska & married in 1886, I think one
of his 3 kids was born in Nemaha & my grandfather in Sterling Neb.
I would like to see what the census said for the birth place of
Charles Duryea Rolston- & for his parents?

While typing I might as well send out my research brick wall too.
Looking for my GGGG grandparents with a 50/50 shot.

My Warrens father: Alexander Andrew Ralston d.1922 in Hancock Co.
(I'm wanting to find an OBIT from the paper, I have his d.cert & will)
& his mother Rachel Whitson d. 1877 & Alex married Mary Harmine Wright.
In 1881 Alex was listed on the 1881 will of Samuel Ralston(1801-1881)
& his wife Elizabeth are buried at the Three springs Cemetery near
Weirton,Hancock Co. Alex d.cert listed her as Elizabeth McConnell,
another son's d.cert listed her as Sarah McConnell.
Alexander & Rachel, Samuel & Elizabeth & a son Samuel are all buried
there with several Joseph Ralstons, so we are sorting them out.

Then I have a Samuel Ralston b abt 1795 d.1-4-1867 bd Woodlawn Cem
Seneca Co Oh with his wife Elizabeth Parks d 1867 m in Brooke Co,
traveled to Senecca Co by 1835-40. They had daughters & sons Robert,
Joseph who died in the Civil war are buried there & son Andrew who
traveled to Michigan.

I need to try to find ANY proof on these 2 Samuel Ralstons parents...
& have 2 choices to work with- Joseph or Samuel Ralston of Kings Creek,
Brooke Co sons of Joseph & Jane _?_ RAlston.
Each of the 2 sons had sons named Samuel, Joseph & John.
each of the 3rd gen of Samuels married wives named Elizabeth..
so which one is my GGGG grandfather???
I'm thinking <whew> Samuel & Martha Tucker Ralston but need more proof.
Each of the 2 sons listed their son Samuel & his wife Elizabeth in
the deed of the division of the land they owned on & around Kings
Creek.

Joseph JR. married Ann McCready d/o Joseph McCready, then before 1814
he married Sarah Greer/Greir of Harlam Springs Ohio. He d.1843 &
listed 16 children in his will, he is buried at Three Springs Cem.
His children
Joseph (#3) m Lucinda P.HOLMES he d. 1846 bd 3 Springs Cem
Robert d 1847 m Nancy WILSON - had a son Joseph W.b 1817
Samuel & ELizabeth <think the one in Seneca Co OH.> need more proof!
John m Kezia LEWIS 1846 2 kids- what happen to them?
Alexander b 1794 m widow Ann HOLMES ATKINSON to Bartholomew Co IND
William m Ractina McKINNEY in Jefferson Co OH looking for them!
Andrew had d. by 1843 listed his 3 sons Jesse , Isaac & David.
James m Angelina HARPER had sons Harper M. & Joseph Hughes a preacher
George E.b. 1814 m Martha Jane MOREHEAD 1842 10 kids
Jeremiah b 1825 m Jane BRICE 5 kids- have more on them
dau Jean m Daniel WILSON ???? looking for them?
McCready d. abt 1842 at 28 yrs.
Resin b 1816 m Eleanor BRICE have more on them
Sarah "Anne" m David FRESHWATER
Belinda 1819-1899 m William HAYS have a bit - she was 3rd wife
Elizabeth 1823-1909 never married.

Samuel & Martha Tucker Ralston, Her father John Tucker d. 1831 at
100 yrs with wife bd Tucker Meth Cem in Hanover twp Wash Co Pa.
& Martha is also buried there - we think Samuel too.

Joseph-nickname Squirrel-b.abt1791 m Mary MOREHEAD & Hannah EDIE RYMULL
John ????? where did he go?
Andrew had wife named Mary ??? where did he go??

Samuel & wife ELIZABETH **? think this is my GGG but need proof.**
Jane d. 1867 m William WILSON lived in New Manchester Hancock CO
Catherine 1808-1879 m Alexander PORTER to Montezuma,Poweshick Co Iowa

Mary 1796-? m James COCHRAN 1815 he is buried at THree Springs Cem.

Henrietta married Timothy W. Kelly on Nov 6 1817 Brooke Co VA ?
where did they go?

I have more on some of the lines but welcome any tips or clues on
who my GGGG grandfather would be Joseph or Samuel- Ralston.
50/50 chance= :)
I've seen the name spelled Rolston, Ralstan, Rolstone, etc.
in the mean time I've also been looking for the parents of the
pioneer Joseph & wife Jane ? too. And a few dozen early Ralstons men
who lived in Washington, Beaver,Westmoreland, Indiana, & Mercer Co PA &
then all those early in VA too....I've sure gathered up a file cabinet
full of RALSTON families in my search over the years.

P/S thanks to those who sent in suggestions on where to find patient
records- I got a copy of the 1842 patient of the Ralston Threshing
Machine by Andrew Ralston of West Middletown Wash Co PA. FREE *yea*
& with some wonderful help got lots of history on it.
Now to find out who this Andrew Ralston family line was from too...
was he kin to my bunch???

My Great grandfather Warren worked the wheat fields from Caddo Co
Okla Indian territory north after he arrived here in 1900's & his
wife America Virginia Pennington went along & cooked for the crew
during the harvest. My aunt has a photo of Thrashing crew working
the fields & my mom has a photo of their new 2 story house on the
plains of Caddo Co Okla, with long poles holding the walls in place
till they finished the inside walls with the family standing in
front of it with their horses. The family lived for 2 summers &
a winter in a dug out untill they got their house built.
I'm thankful they still have the old photos & a quilt America made.
