Dear Anne, I would check the county clerk's office in New Cumberland
for a death record ; assuming the former Fairview, Pughtown, and at
present "New Manchester"'s records would be on file there . The address
is as follows: P.O.Box 485
New Cumberland, WV 26047
Hancock County Clerk's supervisor is Sharon Ulbright
I really don't know what papers might have been in print at that time,
but a lot of the Hancock County deaths now are published in the "The
Review" in East Liverpool, Ohio, and a record might be found at the
Carnegie Library on microfilm.....that address is as follows:
219 East Fourth Sreet East
Liverpool, Ohio 43920

Also, the Weirton (Daily Times?) paper publishes a lot of Hancock County
deaths. Hoping this will be of some help to you.
