John Henry Best was born in West Virginia, probably in Chester, Hancock
Co. in 1881. He died in Berkshire, NY in 1962. His mother was born Rosa
Loesser. She came to the United States from Alsace-Lorraine (then Germany,
now France) when she was 18, exact year unknown, probably in the 1870s.
She had 3 siblings: Julia, John, Vincent. She married Henry Best. They
had 3 other children: Mary Catherine, Anna (died in infancy), Wille (died
in infancy) and eventually moved to Ohio. I have found what I believe is
my Rosa Loesser Bests death information in the Ohio Death Certificate
Index. It states: Best, Rosa, Date of Death: 3/16/1916, County: Hamilton

Does any one have any information about Rosa and her siblings? I am particularly
interested in where and when she was born. I would also be interested in
information about Henry Best.
