My Great Great Great Grandfather was James Larkins. He was born in Penn. in1814 and had a son named James born in feb. of 1843 in Ohio. He had a total of 12 children. Perhaps this could possibly be the same james that you are looking for. He is buried in the Middleswart cem. in Portland Ohio.
