The 1983 "Hancock Cemeteries" book by George and Mary Thayer lists a
Methodist Protestant Cemetery in New Manchester. It quotes some information from page
430 the 1871 Panhandle history book about this "small cemetery." It says,
"At the west end of Market Street, Fairview [former name of New Manchester],
stands a time defaced and dilapidated brick church which was erected in the year
1828..."

The closest Methodist Church to that spot today is the First United Methodist
Church of Chester WV, about 2 miles away. Phone: (304)387-1995. I doubt if
there is anyone there who would answer for this cemetery.

The Thayer book lists maybe 80 burials in this cemetery. I can check a name
for you, if you like.
