John L. McKinley, 63, of Murraysville, WV, died January 23, 2002, at CAMC General Division, Charleston, WV. He was born on December 27, 1938, in Murraysville, WV, a son of the late John McKinley and Margaret DeLong McKinley. He was a retired Operator at the former Shell Polyester Plant in Apple Grove, WV, now called M & G Polymers. He loved WVU football and was a member of the WVU Sports Fan Club in Charleston. He loved and supported Ravenswood High School sports, especially the girls basketball program.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Walton, Ravenswood, WV; son, Kevin McKinley, Richmond, VA; mother, Margaret McKinley, Murraysville, WV; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Iva Jean McKinley, Murraysville, WV; 5 grandchildren, Korey, Carly, and Haley McKinley; Sierra Walton, and Jonathon O'Brien; 3 nieces, Abigail, Anna, and Leah McKinley. He was preceded in death by his father, and his daughter, Karla McKinley.

Services were held on Saturday, January 26, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Pastor Roger Cummings and Reverend Larry Grant officiating. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, January 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family received friends after the service at the Church of God, Route 2, South(Union Hall Hill).
