OCIE JOHNSTON SMITH Born April 30, 1894; died; September 15, 1980; age
86 years, 4 months and 15 days. Services: Thursday, September 18, 1980,
at 11:00 o'clock a m at the South Point United Methodist Church, South
Point, Ohio, with Rev. Ben Lyttle officiating. Interment in the Powell
Cemetery, Hamlin, W. Va. Eastern Star Services: Wednesday evening, at the
Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W, Va. She was the daughter of the late Oscar
and Sara Smoot Johnston, and the widow of Eddie Smith; a member of the
South Point United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Lodge 106, Hamlin, Wv.
and taught school in Lincoln & Logan Co., WV, and South Point, Ohio for
36 years. Surviving: 6 sons: Oscar, Powell, Lewis, Jake, Donald and Jack
Smith; 3 daughters: Anna Lee Daniels, Kathryn Daniels and Mary Lou Kimble;
1 brother; Pierce Johnston; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and
1 deceased child, Thomas Smith. Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W. Va. in
charge of arrangements.
