94 years, 1 month, 13 days. Funeral services 11:00 o'clock a m, Friday,
June 2, 1978, at the Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W. V., with Minister
Harold Burns officiating. Interment will be in Powell Cemetery, Hamlin,
W V. Son of the late Edward and Shaba Powell Smith; a retired employee
of Columbia Gas of W. V., Inc.; and a member of the Church of Christ, Hamlin,
WV. Surviving: Widow; Blanche Richardson Smith; 2 sons; Leonard Basil Smith
and Virgil V. Smith; 2 daughers; Velva Spaulding and Ione Arbin; 1 brother,
Herbert Smith; 2 sisters; Eula Stowers and Annie Vickers; 11 grandchildren,
41 great-grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren.
