Barboursville - Delphia Lucille Vance Lawson, 81, of Barboursville, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2000, in Heritage Center, Huntington, after a brief illness. She was born March 26, 1919, in Sheridan, WV, a daughter of the late Pleasant Vance and Nevada "Vada" Triplett Vance Adkins. She was a member of Barboursville Baptist Church and was an active volunteer at ECCHO in Milton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Logan "Hoover" Lawson and one sister, Anna Lee Messinger. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Maynard of Lexington, North Carolina; a stepdaughter Barbara Thompson of Barboursville; four grandchildren Bonnie, Stephanie, Charlett and Steven, and seven great-grandchildren, all of North Carolina; two brothers, Thurl Vance of Wayne and Warren Vance of Mesa, Arizona. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by the Rev. Craig Coster. Burial was in Triplett Cemetery, Pleasant!
