Hello,

As most of you know, I'm Donna Brown. I maintain the Logan and Mingo
County WV Web Pages, which are part of the USGENWEB Project <genealogy on
the internet>. I recently have added mailing lists for these counties also.

While the web pages and mailing lists are based mainly on genealogy, I also
feel that they are a good source for anyone with Mingo or Logan County ties
to find lost friends and make new friends. And that is what I hope this
mailing list accomplishes...

A number of people have signed the Logan County Guestbook...some of them
are into genealogical research...others just wish to touch base with
"home". Some are just proud to have Logan County represented on the Web.
I hope that we can make this list a "home" for everyone of them.

I will soon be 42 and I have lived in Logan County WV all my life. I live
in Bruno, Logan County WV, which is only a few miles from the Mingo County
Line, Verner, WV. I lost my Dad, Bo Grimmett, in 1981. Soon afterwards, I
began to wonder about my ancestors and haven't stopped "wandering" since.
;) I've done research in Logan, Mingo, Raleigh, and Wyoming Counties WV.
And also in some VA counties and KY counties.

My surnames are Grimmett, Trent, Vance, Toler, Hatfield, Brown, <all Logan,
Mingo, and Wyoming County>

I also have Mosley (Fayette Co WV), Lee (Patrick Co VA), Standifur (Johnson
Co KY) Dawson & Parker (Lawrence Co KY)

I hope that this will break the ice <so to speak> and the rest of you will
introduce yourselves to us. Jeffrey Earnest did a fine job introducing
himself in a prior message as some of the rest of you have also.

So let's hear from the rest of you all!!!!
