I have Ferrells that I can not find anything on either!! I have a James and
Elizabeth (Fields?) Ferrell. They are from Logan County. In the census books,
I find that he is about the only Ferrell with no parents listed.
The 1850 census book lists them as follows
227 James Ferrell 44
Elizabeth 44 (Fields?)
Martha 26(m. Anderson s/o Joseph and Jane Barker)
James Tolbert 23(m. Martha Jane)
Virginia 21(m. James s/o Robert and Bridget Lilly)
Patterson 20
Fulton 18 (m. Polly s/o John and Eliza Godby)
Causby 17 (m. Guy s/o of Col. Henry and Polly Thompson
Ferrell)
Emma 15
James 13 (m. Almona d/o Burbus and Keziah Toney)
Charles 11
Vashti 9 (m. Jas. Madison s/o Wm. and Dorcas Barker)
Eliza 7
Thos. Benton 5 (m. Nancy d/o Richard and Cynthia Stollings
Taylor)
Hugh 1
They also have a son Smith Ferrell who is listed in the 1850 Boone County
census
24 FERRELL SMITH 24 M
24 Ferrell, Ala(Mahala) 19 F (d/o William Johnson, Jr. and
Mathilda Mullins
24 Ferrell, Tolbert 2 M (m. Martha J. d/o Oliver and Elenor
Perry)
24 Ferrell, Johnson 3mo. (m. Sarah d/o Burbus and Keziah Toney)

Thos. Benton and Nancy are my connection. I find that her mother Cynthia later
married her cousin Griffen Stollings.
Cynthia and Richard had two daughters, Risby born 1845 and Nancy Ann born 1849
in the Logan County 1860 census, I find that Nancy Ann Taylor is living in the
household of Jacob and Polly Haner. No more mention of Risby, that I can
find...
Thos. Benton and Nancy's daughter Ora Ferrell married John Elbert Bell s/o
William Whitten Bell and Ola Ann Chandler. William is the s/o Benjamin Bell
and Louisa Steel Bell. Wm. Whitten also married Mary B. Angle and Delia (Kidd)
Hall.
Does anyone have any info on this family?
Thanks
Robin Bell
