Subject: Thank You for the Death Records Nancy - FINALLY found my Archibald H. Adams!!!
Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 19:54:27 EDT

Thanks to Nancy Calhoun for typing them and to Linda for posting the death
records. After years I have found the death information on my 3rd
Great-Grandfather Archibald H. Adams and confirmation that his parents were
Jacob and Catherine Adams. The list shows him under the name of A. H. ADAM.

I knew that he had died in 1870 as per court records in neighboring Greene
County PA - now if I can just find a burial site. Archibald died July 3,
1870 at Glen Easton according to the record. His parents are listed as Jacob
and Catherine ADAMS - I always knew that, just had no documented proof. I
did NOT know that his wife went by the name of Ellen - in the census she is
always listed as Catherine. What a find!!

Also in the list is Sarah Adams, a sister to my Great-grandfather who died at
age 25 in 1881 from epilepsy. We have wondered about Sarah for years
thinking she might have gone with the family to Wisconsin in 1884. Sarah was
listed as idiotic and insane in the census - in otherwords she was a disabled
child and adult - one of her brothers was near genius but Sarah apparently
got the worst of the genes. For years I feared that Sarah was left behind or
institutionalized when the family made the move to Wisconsin.

NOW, can anyone help me find where these people are buried?

Thank you Nancy and Linda for all of this information!

Jan Slater
