Subject: Overdue tribute to a war hero.
Date: Tue, 11 Jun 2002 21:13:47 EDT
Hi, Everyone:
A week or so ago, I did a page about an Ohio County hero of the KOREAN WAR.
He was a fighter pilot who gave his life but his name does not appear on the
list of those from West Virginia who died. There is a list online for the
whole country - and on the WAGS site I have the newspaper list of those from
Ohio County who died. (I think he may be listed for PA)
The hero's name was CAPTAIN HARRY CECIL MOORE and he was born and raised in
Elm Grove. He was a descendant of the DAGUE family.
The biography was written by Bob & Lois (GEHRINGER) Moore. It is really a
beautiful story and I appreciate that they have shared it with us. And there
is an incredible photo of Harry that I could not bear to re-size.
The tribute is in the Military section of the WAGS site.

I have added Harry to the Ohio County Roll of Honor...
