Mary A. Fletcher was born March 9, 1808, died, Aug. 31, 1898 being 90 years, 5 months and 22 days old. Her maiden name was Campbell. She was married to Aseph C. Fletcher, March 12, 1829 and unto this union eleven children were born, of whom five are still living, B.F. and Amon Fletcher of this county, David Fletcher of Marion County and Mrs. John Watson of Fostoria, Ohio, and Mrs. J.W. Pyles of Preston County. Mrs. Fletcher was converted and joined the Christian Church about 1843 and has lived a true christian life ever since. Mrs. Fletcher moved with her husband from Marion County about 1851 and settled on the farm now owned by Mrs. Malinda Nelson, B.F. Fletcher and J.A. Brown, and lived there for several years after the death of her husband, which occurred nearly 22 years ago; becoming too feeble to do household work she went to the home of her youngest son, Isaac (now deceased) near Smithtown, and remained there until death removed her to the Heaven (the rest is unreadabl!
