For Dunmore's war, Stricker and Kaminsky's LORD DUNMORE'S LITTLE WAR OF 1774 . . . (Heritage Books, 2003) vastly outclasses previous publications, web stuff and family lore.

As a half measure, while you await the book, you can look at the actual payrolls and Public service claims at the Library of VA web site. Problem is, they did not see the need to index the names of the West Augusta men and claimants, a good half of the lists. After all, SW PA is not now part of VA in VA's view, and then there was the Late Unpleasantness.

However, a noble individual styling herself 'gracie' made a lot of headway abstracting names from the LVA holding. She posted her work on the Rootsweb / Ancestry message board on the American Revolution, the Virginia board. If you search her name you can find the posts. She explains how she found what she abstracted and how you can, too, unless LVA has taken off the PA/WV stuff in a huff. While Gracie's effort ended before she got through the whole thing, you can search her posts for names of interests and the very able gracie included the URL for each page she abstracted.
