Greetings West Virginia researchers,
I don't know if there is a format I should be using for this list, I'm sure
someone will clue me in if there is.
Here are my earliest generation as I have it in a nutshell;
John Riner and his family seems to have come to Monroe Co. West Virginia about
1819. John and Lydia Riner placed thier "X,s" on a land Purchase Agreement
dated October 9, 1819 for 216 acres on Rich Creek from Jacob Miller's heir
Peter, for $1,742 owing. It is said that John brought his family from either
Bath or Orange counties, but no record has been found as of this time.In
December of 1819 John's son Simeon took roots by marrying neighbor John
Thompson's daughter, Polly Mary Thompson. These events were the start of a
long history of Riners in Monroe County, which continues today.

My direct line is Simeon and I have most of his direct line to myself down to
the present. Any help would be grateful. Will share any information I have if
this information rings a bell. I have scoured the Broyles's sites and found a
little information on this family but not much.
Thanks for any info. Dan Cook,
