There were two sons born in Texas, Elmer Maddy born July 21, 1877 and lived

where he died in 1942. and was buried in the Maddy Cemetery on the Maddy Farm
in Monroe Co, WV.
In summer of 1882 Dr. Maddy started with his family by wagon from Texas back
to Monroe Co and on the journey a 3rd son was born Lee Maddy born Sept 16,
1882, the mother died during this birth and was buried bye the roadside as was
customary in those pioneer days. Lee went to Michigan at a early age.
On his return to Monroe County, Dr. Maddy bought a tract of land from his
brother Wilson Maddy. The Children were places in the homes of neighbors
until there was a house erected on the Maddy Farm.
Dr. William Maddy later started a nursery in which he grew apple trees. He
planted about 30 acres in apple trees He was also involved in other dealings
in Monroe and Greenbrier Counties.
I hope this will be beneficial to some one that is researching this surname.
