Yes, there are copies of the older history available (I read it in a pretty
recent issue of "The Nicholas Chronicle" I had picked up when we were over in
WV). Contact the Nicholas Co. Historical & Genealogical Society, PO Box 443,
Summersville, WV 26651 or better still contact Gloria BARNETTE, RR2, Box 872,
Summersville, WV 26651-9646 (phone 304-872-2478). She's an absolute jewel!!

I believe this older history is much better compiled and has much more "bang
for your buck" than this new one -- which I consider absolutely worthless and
way overpriced. The older one doesn't have an index, but an index is
available for purchase separately ($10.00 I think).
