County, WV. A listing entitled "The Meadowland Cemetery" compiled and
annotated by Wilton Hamrick, Theta Triplett and Flora Wright indicates that
Adam Hamrick was her husband. Who is this Adam Hamrick? There seems to be
a lot of confusion as to who he was. The listing also gives three of her
children as Florence Hamrick, b. 9 April 1891, d. 31 January 1969, Elizabeth
A. Hamrick, b. 1875, d. 1937 and David Jahue Hamrick, b. 1 March 1877, d. 5
October 1956. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Shirle <

Printed Clay co marriages 1858-1899 no Adam Hamrick found
Printed Randolph co Mg 1787-1923 no Adam Hamrick found

You give Florence as one of her daughters (source Meadowland cemetery)
no birth records found for 1891 Webster co
And I could not find mg records for Margaret's other children
(ref.Meadowland)

THOUGHT: I think I might be looking closer to home then "Braxton co".
Mind the marriage records for Webster start in 1888...
I'm finding divorce was not all that uncommon.
You find Margaret (Cutlip) Hamrick living with her parents in 1880
(no sign of Adam except those listed in other households)
Also in Margaret's household an unknown child Adam H Hamrick age 4 who they
were "raising"

The name Adam is most common to brothers Benjamin (md Gregory) William (md
Gregory) and David (md Miller) who resided in Webster co area. Brother David
Hamrick resided near William Given Gregory (Ben & Wm's brother-in-law) and
most of those buried at Meadlowland relate to Wm Gregory and David Hamrick.
(one exception is an Adam related to Ben, Wm & David's brother refer below)

son: Adam D (Dolliver) Hamrick age 23 (md 1890)
note: Adam's daughter was Portia, if there was a first family it would
most likely be well known.

Wings page 358 also gives:
Adam Hamrick born 1850 Kanawha co Va married Nancy Green 1894 in Webster co
He was the son of Asa & Sarah Starcher, Asa the son of Joseph who was a
brother to Benj, Wm & David Hamrick all sons of Benj and Nancy McMilliion.

Another likely candidate
Wings pg 131 - 134
Adam Jasper Hamrick son of "Kelly" Benjamin & Naomi Mollohan he was born
1862 at Leatherwood (Webster co) he married 3 times. He had a child between
marriages."Adam J raised and lived all his life on Leathewood Creek, near
Bergoo. He died 1932 and is buried in Meadowlands Cemetery, at Bergoo"...

The other Adam Hamricks mentioned in Wings are born well after 1880 census.

This is not an answer to your question/ however gives some thought and
eliminates some of the Adam's.

Jeannette Cogar Rhodes, descendent of William Given Gregory who is buried at
Meadowland who is my Great Great grandfather.
