Whoops! Make that barbershop postcard about 10 years earlier. My grandfather
was born in 1897. It's a beauty!

I have run across 3 old postcards among my father's things. They are black
and white, with white lettering for the descriptions on the front of the
first two. The third is a barbershop and owner standing in his doorway in
Coalton WV, where my grandfather apprenticed and worked when he was 15 years
old. That would date it about 1920-24. I have scanned these and they are
available to anyone who is interested in a copy by sending me your email
address off-line.

The two scenes are probably from the 1940's:

"The Alleghenies from Table Rock
Top of Backbone Mt - Md
Highest Point on US 50 in the East
Elev 3095'"

and

"View from Top of Cheat Mt - 2 miles west of Aurora W Va - US 50
This mountain is 3 miles long Elev 2750' Ascend 1367'"
