I don't have a lot of information about the Weimer's in the part of the book
I have copied. It doesn't tell me when John Weimer was married. On page
501 "Allegheny Passage" Bittinger talks about the "Musser" (moser) family.
"Tobias Moser of Eglon was a son of Tobias Musser of Somerset County. An
obituary in the Gospel Visitor of 1859 (256) reveals the presence of this
brethren family there at an early date. This obituary states that Tobias
Musser, died may 14, 1859 was an "old and well beloved member of the
chruch," aged 82 years, four months and twenty-three days. He was survived
by his aged widow and eight children. The funeral was held by Blough and
Shrock. The name of Tobias Musser appears in the famous "Farsomlungs
briefly" list of Brethren pioneers of western Pennsylvania. (Blough, 82).
John Musser, the father of Tobias Musser of Somerset County, was a
mennonite, who once lived in Lancaster county and is said to have owned part
of the land now occupied by the city of Lancaster. He settled in Stony
Creek Township in 1784. His children were: Tobias, Peter, Henry, Abraham,
Annie, Susannah, Elizabeth and Polly." Tobias and Peter came to Eglon with
Benjamin Beeghly whose wife was a Musser."
Hope some of this helps!
Chris

know is that he was mentioned in his wife's fathers will settlement as the
husband of Elizabeth MOSSER who was the daughter of Nicholas MOSSER.
Nicholas bought 100 acres on Rich Hill at Selbysport, Allegheny Co., MD, now
Garrett Co., MD in 1803. The settlement was in 1826 and I could find no
John Weimer in Garrett Co. at that time. So they had to live elsewhere but
I have not been able to find out where. There are several John Weimers in
Somerset Co., PA but I could not find the one married to Elizabeth MOSSER
and they had to be married before 1926. These MOSSER'S are closely related
to the John FIKE, Sr and Jr. family in Allegheny Co., MD.
