Chuck, could you please check the Mason Co. marriages from 1835 - 1847 and
Putnam from 1848 to 1882? Thanks, Tim

A family of FERGUSONs moved to Kanawha Co., VA (across the Kanawha River
from the part of Mason Co., VA that became Putnam Co., VA in 1847) around
the mid 1830s from Albemarle Co., VA. The Father and Mother were David
FERGUSON and Susannah LANHAM. I know the names of their Sons (William R.,
David P., Andrew, Daniel and John), but I don't know the names of their four
Daughters. I believe one is my GGG Grandmother, Susan FERGUSON, that married
first a Doctor Anderson LEWIS in the early 1840s that lived in Mason Co. and
second my GGG Grandfather Alonzo FORD in Kanawha Co., VA in 1848 right
across the Kanawha River from Putnam.

Alonzo was the Son of Richard FORD and Eliza LEWIS (?) of Mason Co.and was
in Mason till at least 1844 in the PPT listings living very near David P.
FERGUSON. The Daughters of David & Susanna were born ~ 1817, 1821 (maybe
Susan, my GGG Grandmother), 1823 and 1825 according to Census records. They
would therefore have been married somewhere between 1835 - 1855 I would
believe. I believe most of them married in the part of Mason that became
Putnam Co. in 1848, Kanawha Co. or Putnam.

Richard FORD's Children were Mary, Emily, Alonzo, William, Aldridge, &
Marshall.

If I can find the Daughter's names by marriage records, etc. I might be able
to see a connection between my GGG Grandmother Susan FERGUSON and David &
Susanna FERGUSON. Some names that might be possibilities based on what the
Sons named their Children are Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth.

If someone has access to marriage bonds/records for Mason/Putnam/Kanawha for
the time period 1835 - 1855 I would appreciate any information on female
FERGUSON marriages. Thank you. Tim Spradling
