Hi Ernie:
I have a copy of Allen's will and a copy of his death record. He shot himself
on the banks of the Kanawha on 20 Feb 1861. Family story suggests that he was
pretty depressed after the death of Hannah (ca 1845 if John William's
obituary can be relied on) and when the kids were almost grown up he just couldn't
deal with it anymore. He set up a guardian for John and got the gun. The record
clearly states suicide by gun. Depression runs in the Frazier family.
Have you been to Allen/Hannah's graves? I have pictures of them somewhere. My
grandpa used to take us there when I was little. The graves are covered with
limestone crypt protectors. Allen is there. Hannah is there and an unknown
baby (maybe the reason Hannah died young?).
You must descend from Mary Elizabeth Frazier who married John Morris Ball,
then? Have you ever found her exact date of death or where she is buried? I know
that John is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Mason Co., but I have never seen
Mary's grave or DOD. Which of their children do you have descent from?
Nice to meet ya cousin,
Constance
