Bob..Thanks again. Jesse Stevens was Yankee born in Meigs county Ohio. I
guess we never will know why he upped and joined the Confederacy and
served in Virginia. He did not return to Meigs after the war ended but
lived his life out in W Va. Thanks again for a good lead.....Tom

The Putnam Co. courthouse in located in Winfield, WV. They would have
records for birth, death, and marriage's. You need to contact them, or
ask
for help from local researchers. I was born in Putnam Co., but now live
in
Louisiana.
I checked the 1850 census for the county and Jesse was not listed, also
not
listed in marriage records from 1848-1874.
