If it is David Grubbs White His wife was named Ruth.
He gave a story that was repeated to him by a Mary Eliza Fint widow fo Henry
Fint of Glenmore on the Elkins Wv Route 1 Wv. on about 1957

Mrs Mary E. Elza Fint was a Great Grand Daughter of Mr David Grubbs White.
and she was 80 yrs old when she told Elam C Wyatt story. She was a daughter
of Joseph Elza Sr and Martha Louella Carr, a daughter of Susanna Simmons Carr
and Solomon Carr ( this is my husbands Great Grandad Robin) , a son of
Eli Carr and Martha Patty White , a daughter of David and Elizabeth
Summerfield White also. Joseph Elza Sr of Wymer , Wv was also from this same
family line being a cousin of his wife. He was a son of Thompson Elza and
Sarah Sally White ; a daughter of Lucy Raines and Thomas E Soldier White a
son of David and Elizabeth Summerfield White.

Mr David Grubb White was the adopted son of Thomas White who settled near the
mouth of Laurle Fork in Tucker Co, Va ( not WV) in 1789; David Grubb Whiter
married Miss Elizabeth Summerfield , a daughter of Mr Joseph Summerfield and
Miss Winnie Nelson a daughter of Sarah Sterns and John Nelson a son of the
pioneer; Thomas and Martha ?? Nelson of Pendelton Co.

The children of DAvid and Elizabeth were as follows. Mr Joseph White wed
Sally Lambert, Mr Thomsa E Soldier White wed Miss Lucy Raines, Mr William
White wed Miss Mahala Wolford, Martha Patty White wed Eli Carr ( my husbands
Great Great Grandad) , Sally Sarah White wed Thompson Elza. Thompson
Elza raised Solomon Carr after his Dad Eli Carr was killed by a Flanagan man
whose wife he had stolen when he left Martha Patty White Carr.

David White ran off with Ruth of Pendelton Co and left his wife Elizabeth. He
gave her the deed to all his property from below the mouth of Gandy Creek to
below the MOuth of Tory Camp Run and gave her $200 in cash. David and Ruth
eloped on horseback. Elizabeth became embittered and went after them on
horseback with a rifle. She stopped over night with a farmer who talked her
out of what she was plannign to do. Billy White said many times to E C
Wyatt my Dad ran away with another woman when we were just kids.
