HiYa Joyce....The 60th Virginia Infantry Regimental Book gives us
a little different information on your M L Campbell
LOOKUP: PVT Marion L Campbell of Company I enlisted on August 10,
1861 in White Sulphur Springs VA Present until captured
at Winchester 9-19-64 and a POW Point Lookout. He was a
resident of Giles County VA. entered the home in Richmond
at the age of 72 and then left in 1919.
DIFFERENCES: Giles County and where he enlisted at. AGE 72 too.
Joyce, the 60th Regimental lists seven other Cmpbell veterans in
this infantry unit. A., E.B., Fredrick, John, Levi, Thomas, V.M.
The general facts look suspicious, but not conclusive on any one
of them being a relative to your Marion or Merriman L Campbell.
I also checked my 1870 Giles County Census. NO Campbells listed.
I suggest that you find someone with an 1860 Giles and Logan County
Virginia Census. This would be a way of seeing where they were at
before the war began. VAWBTSVETS=WVWBTSVETS Lists Owner:Glenn
