Joyce,
The date also looked suspicious to me, since the Battle of Opequon Creek (3rd
Winchester) was fought on 9/19/1864, resulting in a rout of the confederate
forces. Many were captured during this flank movement, of which the 60th was a
part. Ironically, Union General George Crook's Army of West Virginia (Kanawha
Division) led the assault against fellow West Virginians (Confederates).
