I am not positive but I think Mt. Carmel cemetery is on the corner of 23rd
Street and Fairview Avenue. I do know that is a Catholic cemetery. Heading
East on Rt. 50 also called East 7th Street -you would turn left on Fairview
and the cemetery is one block up and is to the left diagonally. All of
this, of course, is true only if that is indeed Mt. Carmel. Of course the
name could have been changed also. Perhaps the location will be of some
help.
Happy hunting

I have a death certificate on my Great Grandmother stating that she was
buried in Mt. Carmel cemetery in Parkersburg, WV on Oct 10, 1930. I am not
coming up with that cemetery on the maps.

There is a Methodist Mt Carmel cemetery outside of Parkersburg, but my
GGrandmother was a life-long Catholic, so I am guessing that is not it. And
she is not on the list for that cemetery.

We know she lived in Vienna when she died, so is the cemetery in Vienna? Is
this an old or inactive cemetery that is part of another larger cemetery in
Parkersburg?

Her husband was buried in Ritchie County, so they are not together. I also
think there are some of her other children buried near her. So there may be
several Dolans in one cemetery.

Does anyone have any information that could help me? We are planning a trip
to Parkersburg in a few weeks, and hope to be able to stop by the cemetery.

THANKS!
