A search on Leroy Edwards will return information indicating he made an
entry for 40 acres in Twp 34 N, Range 119 W, on 26 November 1915. This
was in Lincoln Co., Wyoming. Since the entry was made under the
homestead act, there should be homestead application papers with more
information.

World War I Draft Registration. You have this, but note the residence in
1917 was Merna, Wyoming, at the time part of Lincoln Co., Wyoming, and
then in 1921 fell to newly formed Sublette Co., Wyoming. It is likely
that Edwards sold this property before returning to Iowa. A check of
Lincoln and/or Sublette County deed records may produce additional
information.

Merna is a speck in 1920 and not a whole lot bigger today. Edwards was
not listed there in 1920 – two pages, did not take long to read. Of
course, if he was still in Wyoming, Merna may have been nearby and not
his actual place of residence.

Send for Owen LeRoy Edwards’ Social Security application with his
original signature and compare it with the signature of Roy Edwards’
draft registration. Ancestry.com has a link to generate the letter you
would need to submit to the Social Security Administration.
