Isn't it a problem that there is hardly any R1a in Spain/Portugal, where the Visigoths are supposed to have ended up? There is an I1a haplotype which occurs in Estonia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria, which could well represent Gothic migration. I don't know that much about it, but I have never seen that R1a could be a typical Gothic marker. Maybe we will have to ask Ken Nordtvedt.
