There are not enough YCAII = 20-20 haplotypes in I1a to even try to see a
geographic concentration. But there are some; it could occur by two
one-step mutations. The 20-20 does not seem to be concentrated in a clade
either, but rather looks like the results of random mutations here and
there.
You have other rare markers for I1a --- 12 at 393 and
12 at 385a. Considering that the Tree branch leading to G was about the
last to
leave the branch leading to IJ (which quickly became separate I and J
haplogroups) your oddity of haplotype suggests testing for all nine SNPs
which define I1a in order to see if you are possibly negative for one or
more of them. This is an expensive proposition, but it could be
interesting. If any haplotype turns out positive for just some of the nine
SNps and negative for others, that means a new haplogroup would be
discovered which branched off before the prolific common ancestor to the
normal I1a population existed.
Were you confirmed I1a by FTDNA SNP test? If so, there are less than 9 left
to test --- isn't that wonderful? But your 8,16,14 at DYS455,437,388
certainly shows normal I1a. Ken
