My family origin is from Southern Italy from a small town that has had Norman influence (small fortification/castle in town and the largest Norman Cathedral in Italy is in Gerace a few kilometers away). I just found another Italian participant who also is I2a1 M26-B (I believe) and his town also has Norman roots.

On FtDNA there is a family Quenneville (Kit 48260) from Rouen (capital of historic Normandy) who is only 5 genetic variations away from me on a 37 marker test.

I have tried to see how M26-B made its way into S Italy since it is a extremely low percentage of the poplulation. I looked extensively at the large Sardinian Database sample posted a while ago and my markers seem very far away on average.

These are the two (apologies if the cut and paste isn't clean) *I only counted as "2" the difference between 389-1 & 2 since the difference between the two is 15
