Lists V-Z are due to be migrated tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13,
and below you will find some information that will help you through
this process. If you have any other questions feel free to email me offlist.

***Are you subscribed to both the regular and digest modes of a list
with a single email address?

The new list management system does not support a single email
address being subscribed to both the mail (regular delivery) and the
digest at the same time.

This means you will no longer be able to receive both the digest and
the regular delivery ("-L") versions of the list at the same email
address. If you are currently subscribed to both "-L" and "-D" with
the same address, you will only continue to be subscribed to regular
delivery when the list is migrated. You will need to subscribe to the
list digest with a different email address.

***As the lists are migrated over, you will no longer have to add the
-L when sending an email to the list. You only need to address your
email as with XXXX being replaced with the name of the list.

***FOR AOL USERS:

After these lists are migrated it is imperative for AOL users to
check your spam folders. If you find list mail there then please be
sure to CLICK THE *THIS IS NOT SPAM* link to send the list mail to
the inbox. It is VERY important to help train the filters and let
AOL know that this new server can be trusted. AOL users need to
check their mail controls to be sure they are not blocking mail from
another list poster in that doing so could result in being
unsubscribed from the list without notice.

If you have questions about AOL and Rootsweb, and how the new list
software will affect you, then you can join the AOLers-Rootsweb email
list by sending a new email to
with only the single word subscribe in the subject line and body of
the message.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, and we will figure it out
together. Thanks for your patience during this migration to the new server,

Lainee Denton-Jones
