Hello to all NY Yates listers!

I am currently researching the parish records from
Yorkshire, ENG, (1631-) and several other records from
Leeds. My goal is to prove the parentage of Joseph
Yates of Albany, NY (d. 1730). There is precious
little detail in these ancient mss., but when I find
something I will post it. Also, I notice that so far
there is no mention of the mother in any of the birth,
baptism, death or marital records.

To date, the best source on the English roots of
Joseph Yates will be found in an article by Kathryn
Wright Johnson in the NY Gen and Bio Record (114/4,
Oct 1983, pp. 228-34). But there is much more to be
done.

I want to invite anyone with Yates roots in NY to keep
in touch. We don't hear much about this line.
