Great!

My group came from Wales, stopped in London, UK, for a short time (I'm guessing on this), bought land in western North Carolina Colony from an agent of the King, and sailed to Colonies arriving about the time of the Boston Tea Party (Dec 1773).

Names:   Major Jethro Yeates/Yeats/Yates  age:  30-45 years old (guess)  Possibly bought western land of North Carolina, at what is now Jonesborough, TN.  He sold this parcel in April 1774.

William Yeates/Yeats/Yates age:  about 18 (could have had wife named Mary, since that is her name in his will of 1809)
             Alsey Yeates/Yeats/Yates, age:  about 19 or 20
             John Yeates/Yeats/Yates, age:  Unknown

             James Yeates/Yeats/Yates, age:  Unknown
Other names not known at this time.  The family group traveled together, but I haven't found them on a passenger listing.  It's possible they worked on the ship for passage.

Any ideas, or suggestions are welcomed at this point.  I've been working on this for almost 40 years:)
I've just retired, so I'm continuing the 'quest'.

Are there any Yates/Yeates/Yeats on the mailing list in Wales, or UK?? If so,
need some research help.?
