Subject: On These Days in Yoder History

(Some Yoder dates approaching--plan now how you plan to celebrate
St.Joder's Day---next month August 16th)
On July 14th:
in 1864, David Yoder (Con3), third child of Conrad Yoder of NC, died at
the age of 94 and in buried in the Grace Church Cemetery. It is said that
he went to Georgia in 1814, but didn't like it and returned to NC.
in 1914, Christian Yotter (AQ2) died in West Point Iowa. Christian had
been born 12/12/1831 in Sembach, Germany to Johann Jotter (1803-1838) and
Agnes Gobel. His brother Henry settled in Alden,NY and has descendants
there today.
On July 15th:
Major Charles T. Yoder (see YNL 18 and 29) was born in 1843.
On July 16th:

"According to the Bernese regime's Council Manual [Minutes] 222/15
of 16 July 1690 (in the City Archive of Bern): 'The regime orders
Provincial Governor von Trachselwald to inquire whether the
Anabaptists Jost Joder and Christen Blank from Steffisburg are
staying, as reported, in Schangnau and whether they have brought
their property there. As soon as this is confirmed, it should be
reported to the Anabaptist Chamber [Tauferkammer]."
