Hi Lisa,
It seems odd that Lucille would be mentioned in an obit for David Mitchell as his daughter. He and Matilda seem to have been a little old to have a daughter her age, although not impossible. From the 1920 and 1930 census records, she was born about 1896 and both list her father as born in Connecticut. David and Matilda are on the 1900 census, with John (no other children), and their ages are listed as 55 yrs. Do you know if David and Matilda had any children older than John? Maybe she was a granddaughter or neice - could be her parents died while she was young and she may have been brought up by David and Matilda.
