There are 3,952 Wills in the whole series. This index has 109 of them from
the AF Series which covers the period 1815-1849 in terms of Probate.

You now have name indexes covering 711 Wills. To find the previous indexes
you need to search the YORKSGEN Archives : Go to
<<http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl>>; - Make sure you insert
YORKSGEN into the first box where you are invited to select a List - Make
sure you select Year 2000 - Then do a search on "Wills and Index". Click on
the appropriate file.

Location/Occupation, where shown in the Will, for each Testator is in
brackets next to the forename. If not given the Testator is then indicated by
a (T)

All the other names mentioned are in the body of a Will and are either
Legatees, Executors, Other Family Members, Friends, Trustees, Guardians,
Witnesses, Appraisers, and other individuals such as Tenants, Neighbours,
Debtors, etc.

You should not assume that all forenames against a surname are from the same
family. Using Brown as an example :

Brown Ann, AE073, George, AE065, Richard, AE072, W B, AE053

: none of these have a Will; they are just names from various other Wills in
the AE Series.

Whereas :

Burniston George, AE002, John, AE002, (-/Gamekeeper), Mary, AE002,
Richard, AE002, Stephen, AE002, Thomas, AE010

: John is a Testator, with George, Mary, Richard, and Stephen being mentioned
in his Will; but Thomas is just a name from a different Will in the AE Series.
