At last, with help from Vivian Smith I have advanced a little further back
with my ancestor's.
Unfortunately they are straddled over the borders of Durham and the North
Riding, criss crossing every 20 years or so.
I`m now looking for links to Mary CARLTON born in Staindrop 1804 her parents
were William CARLTON from Raby and Mary, nee CLARKE from East Witton, North
Riding. She married Jonathan CARTER in Staindrop in 1836 (The marriage
register, has her maiden name as CHARLTON, but a later birth certificate
says her maiden name was CARLTON). On the I.G.I. I have found siblings for
Mary. John born 1794 and William born 1801, though I know there are is at
least one other.
Doe's anyone recognise any of this.
