Certificates From Local Registrars Offices By Post
If the office can accept your request they will want an SAE to post the
certif/s back to you and there is no charge if the certificate is not found.
The local registrar needs the name, place (at least the registration
district) and if not the date preferably the year and giving the quarter
helps them. You can give as much extra info as you have, like occupation,
mother's name, address in case there is more than one possible answer and it
helps to avoid buying the wrong certificate, give them your phone number so
that they can contact you if there is any doubt about it being the right
certif.
Occasionally, local registrars have certificates which failed to reach
London and never got indexed in the national registry.

For all of North Yorkshire I think

The Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths,
North Yorkshire Registration Service,
Bilton House, 31 Park Parade,
Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 5AG

Cheque for £6.50 for each certificate payable to the Superintendant
Registrar

should see you right,
Lynn T
