Subject: Help! I think this is 'my' grave
Date: Thu, 02 Nov 2000 02:49:46 GMT
Well, when I say 'My' grave, I mean one belonging to an ancestor.
I have been looking for the grave of Christopher Scruton for a few years,
with no luck. Today a huge pile of MIs arrived that I had ordered and while
looking up some names I came across the following inscription:
It reads: "Christopher, son of Joseph and Mary ..... of Kirby Malzeard ....
.........."
I believe Christopher Scruton's father and mother to have been Joseph and
Mary. He also called one of his children Joseph and another Mary.
It's the right area too.
The grave is at St. Andrews, Kirby Malzeard. Does anyone know if there is
any other way (other than trying to make out the inscription) of finding out
who is buried here?
Sue
