Hi Yall,
My name is Maxine MORDEN and I am looking for help
looking for the MORDEN'S in England. I have
researched
the family back to George MORDEN born around 1715 in
England, family folklore refers to him as a
Yorkshireman. He brought his family, a wife and at
least 5 sons to the US around 1743.
I have his fathers name listed as Thomas MORDEN b.
about 1690.
His older children that was born in England are:
James b. abt. 1738 d. 1765 in Mt. Bethel, PA. USA
Jonathan MORDEN
George MORDEN b. 1740 d. 1818
Joseph MORDEN b. 1740 d. 1777
Ralph MORDEN b. 1742 d. 1780
also believe 2 other children returned to England
later.
George had 11 children in all.
If anyone has any information on this family in
Yorkshire I really could use your help.
Points of interest:
Anything about George's parents, wife and children.
What Ship they may have traveled to the US on.
Would also like to know the best way to research ships
passenger lists from the Mid. 1740's from England to
the US.
Thank You
Maxine MORDEN
Texas, USA
