IS this a joke??? I, too, feel a strong kinship and affinity with my ancestor
Lancelot Yellow, since he was my gt-gt-gt-grandfather and I, too, am six
generations away from him. However, I can prove it at every link and stage of
the way - I look forward to seeing your line to the present day, with the
appropriate genealogical evidence supplied.

I find it interesting that if, as you say, you have been using the name for
many years your business does not seem to be listed on my UK Phone CD
(issued in 1999). I have also visited your website and note that it appears to
be just one page announcing the name of your business and has "Copyright 2000"
at the bottom. My book of genealogical poems was published in 1997 and I have
been using Lancelot Yellow as a literary pen name for some years before that.

I could not seem to navigate any further on your web page beyond the opening
page. I wonder, could this - just possibly - be because you have seen my use of
the name and thought it was a good one to use yourself? Or am I being overly
cynical here? I, too, as it happens have a registered web domain called
www.lancelot-yellow.org.uk. I think if you bother to check up, you will find
there is absolutely nothing to prevent people from using different versions of
the same name, either on websites or as a business name. There are, for
instance, probably hundreds of businesses throughout Britain called "White
Rose". The only exclusivity in a business name is when it is a limited company.
If you are not convinced I should ask your solicitor!

However, if what you say is true, it would appear that we are 4th cousins or
something of the sort, and cousins shouldn't threaten each other and fall out,
should they? Instead of your attempting to bully me, why don't we discuss
genealogical notes? I would be most interested, for instance, to know which of
Lancelot Yellow's numerous children you descend from. There is no secret about
mine - I descent from his daughter MARY YELLOW, who married my
gt-gt-grandfather Robert Stockdale/Stockdill at Easingwold in 1791.

With best wishes, "cousin"
