I am interested in that underscoring too. On the IGI I have JEAN_Beharrel
and Sarah Vandebeq several times with the underscore. Is it an abbreviation,
or was the name difficult to subscribe. Another thought--has the name been
changed from the French (this is a Huguenot family I believe ) or Latin. I
hope this is not a silly question, and will be very pleased if anyone has
the answer
