Subject: [YKS] 1901 J for T

Hi folks,
Anyone with relatives whose surname starts with the letter
T, might be well advised to look for them under the 'J's.
There are some 76 TETLEYs transcribed as JETLEYs, and they
were not, presumably, transcribed by the same person, since
they are in different enumeration districts. (Still possible
I suppose!).
I guess you could search for e.g. *ETLEY, but that would
depend on the uniqueness of the latter part of the surname.
My g-grandmother, who was called 'Polly TETLEY', appears as
'Rolly JETTLEY'.
And yes, I have done some transcription work myself, so I do
know how difficult it is, but if you can't tell a T from a
J.....!
Cheers
Rich
