I know there are some BEAUMONT family researchers on the list so this
may be of interest.
The Obit published in The Times Jan 2nd

Viscount Allendale
Wentworth Hubert Charles BEAUMONT was born in 1922 at Bretton Park,
Wakefield. Now Bretton College and the location of the Yorkshire
Sculpture Park.
He was rescued from a fire in the house in 1927 and in 1936 was almost
electrocuted in his bath
Educated at Eton he joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve, flew 71 missions
in Spitfires and was shot down in 1942 and held in Stalag Luft 3 for the
rest of the war.
As Flight Lieutenant BEAUMONT he was posted to India and known by the
nickname ‘ Wenty ‘ serving as ADC to 2 Viceroys Lord Wavell and then
Earl Mounbatten.
He had married Sarah ISMAY, daughter of the 2nd Viscount in 1948. but
was divorced abt 1980.

After his RAF service he trained in estate management and then ran the
family estate at Bywell Hall, Northumberland and succeeded as 3rd
Viscount Allendale [ created 1911 ] with the Barony of Allendale [
created 1906 ] on the death of his father.

He was a racehorse trainer and steward at Yorkshire Race Courses York,
Ripon and Thirsk

He is survived by 3 sons the eldest Hon Wentworth Peter Ismay BEAUMONT
inherits the Viscountcy.

The 1st Viscount was Wentworth Canning BLACKETT
The WENTWORTH name comes from Sir Thomas WENTWORTH First Earl of
Strafford who was impeached and beheaded in 1641
The CANNING name from 18th century Statesman George CANNING
