.... but do bear in mind that some sources, (for example the CD ROM version
of the 1881 UK Census) confusingly put "York" where "Yorkshire" is meant.
(The same happens with counties such as Cambridgeshire, Herefordshire,
Oxfordshire, Huntingdonshire, etc. but strangely enough not with Berkshire,
Lancashire or Hampshire, where removing the "shire" ending does not leave
you with the name of a town or city). So the fact that it says "Heighton,
York" in the census entry does not necessarily mean that Heighton is part
of, or even near, York, the city, just that it is somewhere in Yorkshire.
